Pales\u00adti\u00adna is het hart van alle strijd, sinds de Nak\u00adba in\u00a01948, en de men\u00adsen lij\u00adden nog steeds onder dezelf\u00adde krach\u00adten die ons land niets dan dood en ver\u00adderf heb\u00adben gebracht. Op deze avond, als onder\u00addeel van het Eye on Pales\u00adti\u00adne fes\u00adti\u00adval, rich\u00adten we onze aan\u00addacht op de onder\u00addruk\u00adten over\u00adal.\u00a0Eye on Leb\u00ada\u00adnon\u00a0richt zich op het col\u00adlec\u00adtie\u00adve geheu\u00adgen en de iden\u00adti\u00adteit van twee Liba\u00adne\u00adse makers en belicht hun ver\u00adha\u00adlen bin\u00adnen deze bre\u00adde\u00adre context.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We begin\u00adnen de avond met een ver\u00adto\u00adning van Mea Culpa van Patrick Tass. Leu\u00adgens en schuld vor\u00admen de kern van Patricks rela\u00adtie met zijn moe\u00adder Ran\u00adda. In de loop der jaren ver\u00adza\u00admel\u00adde hij hun audio\u00adbe\u00adrich\u00adten en video\u00adge\u00adsprek\u00adken. Hij trans\u00adfor\u00admeert ze nu in een por\u00adtret van haar leven in Liba\u00adnon en het zij\u00adne in Bel\u00adgi\u00eb. Mea Culpa is beur\u00adte\u00adlings ont\u00adroe\u00adrend, pro\u00advo\u00adce\u00adrend en hila\u00adrisch en stelt de link tus\u00adsen nati\u00ado\u00adna\u00adle en sek\u00adsu\u00ade\u00adle iden\u00adti\u00adteit van een jon\u00adge Pales\u00adtijn\u00adse emi\u00adgrant in&nbsp;vraag.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Na de ver\u00adto\u00adning luis\u00adte\u00adren we samen naar Maabar, een door\u00adlo\u00adpen\u00adde pod\u00adcast\u00adse\u00adrie die de moder\u00adne geschie\u00adde\u00adnis van Liba\u00adnon ver\u00adtelt aan de hand van de ver\u00adha\u00adlen van dege\u00adnen die het heb\u00adben mee\u00adge\u00admaakt. De reeks ver\u00adha\u00adlen door\u00adkruist twee gen\u00adres\u2009\u2014\u2009mon\u00adde\u00adlin\u00adge geschie\u00adde\u00adnis en docu\u00admen\u00adtai\u00adre\u2009\u2014\u2009en schetst een mens\u00adge\u00adrich\u00adte, mul\u00adti-per\u00adspec\u00adtie\u00adve kijk op wat er heeft plaats\u00adge\u00advon\u00adden en de bete\u00adke\u00adnis\u00adsen die ze met zich mee\u00addra\u00adgen. Pales\u00adti\u00adne is the heart of all strug\u00adgles, ever sin\u00adce the Nak\u00adba in\u00a01948, and the peo\u00adp\u00adle con\u00adti\u00adnue to suf\u00adfer under the same for\u00adces that have brought nothing but death and destruc\u00adti\u00adon to our lands. On this night, as part of the Eye on Pales\u00adti\u00adne fes\u00adti\u00adval, we turn our atten\u00adti\u00adon to the oppres\u00adsed eve\u00adry\u00adwhe\u00adre.\u00a0Eye on Leb\u00ada\u00adnon\u00a0will focus on the col\u00adlec\u00adti\u00adve memo\u00adry and iden\u00adti\u00adty of two Leb\u00ada\u00adne\u00adse cre\u00ada\u00adtors, shed\u00adding light on their sto\u00adries within this broa\u00adder context.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We start the eve\u00adning with a&nbsp;scree\u00adning of Mea Culpa by Patrick Tass. Lies and guilt are at the core of Patrick\u2019s rela\u00adti\u00adons\u00adhip with his mother Ran\u00adda. Over the years, he col\u00adlec\u00adted their audio mes\u00adsa\u00adges and video calls. He now trans\u00adforms them into a&nbsp;port\u00adrait of her life in Leb\u00ada\u00adnon and his in Bel\u00adgi\u00adum. By turns moving, pro\u00advo\u00adca\u00adti\u00adve and hila\u00adrious, Mea Culpa ques\u00adti\u00adons the links bet\u00adween nati\u00ado\u00adnal and sexu\u00adal iden\u00adti\u00adties for a&nbsp;young Pales\u00adti\u00adni\u00adan emigrant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After the scree\u00adning, together we have a&nbsp;col\u00adlec\u00adti\u00adve lis\u00adte\u00adning of Maabar, an on-going pod\u00adcast series tra\u00adcing the modern his\u00adto\u00adry of Leb\u00ada\u00adnon through the sto\u00adries of tho\u00adse who have it.
