Een manier om in verzet te komen tegen oorlog is de weigering om de wapens op te nemen. Momenteel praktiseren tienduizenden gewetensbezwaarden en deserteurs dit verzet in de oorlog in Oekra\u00efne. Er is ook een groep Isra\u00ebli’s die weigeren dienst te nemen in een bezettingsleger met soms zware gevolgen. Hun rechten staan enorm onder druk en ook in Belgi\u00eb is het helaas hard nodig om opnieuw op te komen voor het recht op gewetensbezwaar nu sommigen de herinvoering van de dienstplicht bepleiten. Deze avond gaat over deze vorm van vredesactivisme vanuit zowel een historisch als hedendaags perspectief.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De Duitse documentaire<\/a> (Engelstalige ondertiteling) ‘Die Liebe zum Leben<\/strong>‘ gaat over de moed om de oorlog te weigeren en te deserteren, de kracht van trouw te blijven aan jezelf en een visie die de Bondsrepubliek heeft veranderd. Regisseur Annette Ortlieb brengt het aangrijpende verhaal van de strijd van Ludwig Baumann <\/strong>(1921-2018), ter dood veroordeeld voor desertie tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog. Als hij na de oorlog terug vrijkomt, maakt hij er zijn levenswerk van om te strijden voor de intrekking van 30.000 doodvonnissen tegen deserteurs uit de Wehrmacht.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
