Eternal Homeland is een creatie van de Palestijnse klarinettist en componist Ahmed Hawwash. Vertrekkend vanuit herinneringen aan zijn thuisland brengt hij vergeten melodie\u00ebn, mondelinge verhalen en doorleefde ervaringen samen, die hij vertaalt naar een hedendaags muzikaal verhaal. Deze elementen verweven zich met Hawwash\u2019 eigen composities en vormen een oeuvre dat zowel terug- als vooruitkijkt: muziek die herinnert, bevraagt en het idee van \u2018thuis\u2019 opnieuw verbeeldt. Het project kreeg zijn volledige artistieke vorm met de release van het album Eternal Homeland in juni 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ahmed Hawwash nam deel aan het Oxfamproject ‘Voices rise up<\/a>‘. Met dat nummer roepen Oxfam Belgi\u00eb –\u00a0en meer dan 50 Belgische en Palestijnse artiesten – mensen op om hun stem te laten horen, met de eis om een einde aan de straffeloosheid van Isra\u00ebl te maken en dat Belgi\u00eb zijn beloften nakomt \u00e9n versterkt.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eternal Homeland is a deeply personal musical project by Palestinian clarinetist and composer Ahmed Hawwash, rooted in memory, identity, and belonging. Drawing from fragments of his homeland, the project gathers forgotten Palestinian melodies, oral stories, and emotional landscapes, transforming them into a contemporary musical language. These elements intertwine with Hawwash\u2019s own compositions, creating a body of work that is both archival and forward-looking; music that remembers, questions, and reimagines home. The project reached its full artistic form with the release of the album Eternal Homeland in June 2025, marking the culmination of years of research, composition, and reflection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
